COURSE DETAILS
1KM SWIM LEG (2x500m laps)- Starting in the water, participants will swim in the calm, flat and stunning waters of Silver Beach, Kurnell, exiting the water at the end of their second lap to head up to transition on the grass next to the footpath.

5KM RUN COURSE (1x5km lap)- The flat and fast course travels along the Kurnell Foreshore path, boasting spectacular water views and will finish in Bonna Point Reserve (same finish line as the fun run events).
​
Teams will change over their timing chip from swimmer to runner in the transition area.

ABILITY
-
The SHIRE Aquathlon is a unique multisport challenge that is suitable for ALL levels, including walkers. We cater for multisport enthusiasts through to first timers.

There will be NO course cut off time.
WHAT TO BRING
-
Swim Cap (you MUST wear a swim cap, please make sure you bring your own- the brighter the colour, the better!)

Goggles
-
Swim suit or triathlon suit

Running vest/top (torso must be covered on the run course)

Wetsuit (only permitted if the water temperature allows- see AUS Triathlon competition rules HERE)

Towel
-
Running shoes with lock laces
TIMING CHIP COLLECTION
-
Timing chips must be strapped to your LEFT ankle for the duration of the event.

Timing chip collection will be available on the day from the bib/chip collection area (next to the Bonna Point Reserve playground) from 5:15am.

Please aim to arrive 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of your event to allow for parking and timing chipcollection

AGE CATEGORIES
​
Age Groups (male & female): 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+, Male Team, Female Team, Mixed Team (age as at 31st December 2025).
​
NOTE: You must be a minimum of 15 years of age (as at 31st December 2025) to win a category prize in the SHIRE Aquathlon
FINISHER MEDAL & PRIZES

All finishers will receive a Finisher Medal

Shire Aquathlon placegetter medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age category (male & female)

The Presentation will take place at the Kurnell Rec Club at 12:15pm​
ENTRY FEES
WATER SAFETY
Water safety will be provided on the swim course by Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club, including an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) and rescue boards. To find out more about Cronulla SLSC's activities, please CLICK HERE

EVENT RULES
​The SHIRE Aquathlon is an AUS Triathlon sanctioned event and will be conducted under AUS Triathlon Competition Rules (available HERE) to ensure safety, fairness and enjoyment for all participants.
RESULTS

Full results for all participants will be available from https://www.multisportaustralia.com.au/ as soon as they are finalised after the completion of the event.

Reporting a Result Error: If you believe that a result is missing or is incorrect, please report it as soon as possible at the event to Multisport Australia staff. If noticed after the event, you can report it via the “Report An Error” link at the bottom of the relevant results page on https://www.multisportaustralia.com.au
