Shire Cyclocross Classic
ABOUT CYCLOCROSS
Cyclocross (CX) is an off-road bicycle racing discipline that combines elements of road cycling and mountain biking. The Shire Cyclocross Classic will be conducted in a modified super sprint course, involving a Qualifying Round and then an eliminator format.
LOCATION
Bonna Point Reserve- 310-312 Prince Charles Parade, Kurnell NSW 2231
SCHEDULE
8:30am- 9:30am- Timing Chip Collection
9:45am- Warm Up Lap/Course Familiarisation
10:00am- Men's and Women's Cyclocross 5km Qualifying Round (4x1.25km laps)- Top Half of the field will progress to the Eliminator.
10:15am- CX Elimination Round 1- 1.25km (25% of the field eliminated)
10:20am- CX Elimination Round 2- 1.25km (25% of the field eliminated)
10:25am- CX Elimination Round 3- 1.25km (25% of the field eliminated)
10:30am- CX Elimination Round 4- 1.25km (Final Quarter of the field remain)
$300 will be awarded to 1st Male, 1st Female. 2nd & 3rd Male & Female to receive vouchers. A $200 lucky draw prize will be awarded to an athlete who makes at least Round 1 of the Eliminator (i.e. finishes in the top 50% of the field in the Qualifying Round) and does NOT win the Eliminator overall.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There must be a minimum of 15 entries of the same gender for prize money to be awarded. For the lucky draw prize to be awarded, there must be at least 25 entries in total (male and female combined).
Presentations will be at Kurnell Rec Club at 11am.

MARSHAL LOCATIONS/TIMES
Participants will be required to marshal no later than 10 minutes prior to their scheduled start time at Start/Finish Line.

WHO CAN ENTER?

All ages and abilities are encouraged to enter the Shire Cyclocross Classic. You do not have to be a member of AUS Cycling.
ENTRY FEE

The entry fee for the Shire Cyclocross Classic is $30.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
The following equipment is recommended for participation in the Shire Cyclocross Classic:

You must use either a Mountain Bike (MTB), Cyclocross (CX) Bike or Gravel Bike during the event.

Approved Helmet

Cycling Shoes and cleats highly recommended

AUS Cycling Rules will apply
TIMING CHIP COLLECTION

Participants will receive a timing chip which is to be worn on their LEFT ankle.

Timing Chip Collection will be available on the day from 8:30am at Bonna Point Reserve, Kurnell.
PRIZES
