NSW Junior Aquathon Champs

LOCATION
The entire event (start and finish) will take place at Silver Beach Baths, Kurnell.

8:40am- Compulsory Race Briefing- Individual and Relay events (Silver Beach Baths, Kurnell)

9:00am- 8/9 Years Male & Female Beach Aquathon - 150m Run/75m Swim/225m Run​
9:05am- 10/11 Years Male & Female Beach Aquathon- 150m Run followed by 75m Swim/225m Run (X2)​
9:15am- 12/13 Yrs & 14/15 Yrs Male & Female Beach Aquathon- 150m Run followed by 75m Swim/225m Run (X3)

9:55am- 12/13 Yrs and 14/15 Yrs Male & Female Beach Aquathon Relay- 75m Swim/225m Run (X2)- then repeat for 2nd athlete/leg 2

NOTE: For 10/11, 12/13 and 14/15 Yrs Relays, EACH athlete does twice through before passing on to their team member (i.e. swim/run/swim/run then changeover)

NOTE: Please still bring run shoes just in case a format change is needed, but the plan is for the run leg to be done on the beach (no shoes needed).
​
Presentations will be at Kurnell Rec Club at 11am.

MARSHAL LOCATIONS/TIMES​
Participants will be required to marshal no later than 10 minutes prior to their scheduled start time at Silver Beach Baths, Kurnell​

WHO CAN ENTER?
-
The NSW Junior Aquathlon Championships is open to participants from all abilities aged between 8 and 15 years of age (as at 31st December 2026). We strongly encourage participants from athletics, swimming and surf life saving clubs to enter the event.

There is NO course cut off time

RELAY TEAM COMPOSITION/LOGISTICS
-
Relays are to be entered by one person on behalf of the two team members (one person will swim, the other will run). You will need to create a team name during the registration process.
-
It is recommended that your team is from the same triathlon, surf lifesaving, athletics or swimming club (but this is not compulsory).
-
If you have a mixed team for the relays (1 male, 1 female), they are to compete in the MALE category.
-
If both members of your team are in different age groups, the team will be assigned to the older age group (e.g. a team with an 8 year old and a 10 year old will compete in the 10/11 Yrs division).
-
The transition area will be the changeover zone between runner and swimmer and then from swimmer to runner (the timing chip must be transferred to the LEFT ankle of your relay partner in the transition zone).

EQUIPMENT NEEDED
The following equipment is recommended for participation in the NSW Junior Aquathlon Championships:

Swimming costume/triathlon suit

Goggles
-
Swim Cap (compulsory to wear- bring your own)

Running vest/top (torso to be covered on the run course)- triathlon suit, surf club rash vest or t-shirt

TIMING CHIP COLLECTION

Participants will receive a timing chip which is to be worn on their LEFT ankle.

Timing Chip Collection will be available on the day from 8:10am at Silver Beach Baths, Kurnell

​AGE CATEGORIES
​
The NSW Junior Aquathlon Championships are offered in the following age groups for both male & female (individuals and 2 person relays):
8-9 Years
10-11 Years
12-13 Years
14-15 Years
Age is determined as at 31st December 2026.
PRIZES​
​
NSW Junior Aquathlon Championship medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age category (male & female)
​The Presentation will take place at the Kurnell Rec Club at 11am.
​

RESULTS

Full results for all participants will be available from https://www.multisportaustralia.com.au/ as soon as they are finalised after the completion of the event.

Reporting a Result Error: If you believe that a result is missing or is incorrect, please report it as soon as possible at the event to Multisport Australia staff. If noticed after the event, you can report it via the “Report An Error” link at the bottom of the relevant results page on https://www.multisportaustralia.com.au
